Good word.

This same thought has motivated me countless time in my marriage, with my sons, and in our church family when I've been feeling quite less than loving.

I am obsessed with the word "Chesed" right now! It's just so amazing to me how much and how deeply God loves us. Can you recommend any good resources for further study/commentary on this word?

This is such an important reminder in a day and age where love has become so selfish. Love doesn't always come naturally. There are days when due to circumstances, love is far from what I am feeling towards my spouse or my children; however, love is still what God requires of me, and with love is how I need to respond to them. This Valentine's Day I chose to come up write down one thing I loved about my husband for every week of the upcoming year. It was easy at first, but as my list got longer, it became more difficult. I had 46 items and only needed a few more to complete my list. I read Mary's entry and was reminded that I needed to choose to love the things about my husband that weren't so easy to love, so I completed my list with items such as "I choose to love you even though you ..." My husband loves Reisen candies, so I am going to wrap a Reisen in each of these reasons I love him and give them to him for Valentines Day.
