Let’s hear a big drum roll…… Leslie Ludy and Dannah Gresh have joined the Girls Gone Wise Blog team! Let me introduce you to these awesome ladies:
Leslie is a bestselling author and speaker with a passion for reaching today’s young women the hope of Christ. She and her husband, Eric, have been writing and speaking together for the past fourteen years and have authored sixteen books together. Widely recognized for their bestselling classic, When God Writes Your Love Story, Eric and Leslie have become foremost voices on some of the most poignant issues facing the church today. Leslie’s website is www.setapartgirl.com.
Leslie is the author of Authentic Beauty and Set-Apart Femininity-two bestselling books that have spawned a national ministry for teen and college-aged girls. She has become a well-known voice of encouragement and inspiration to thousands of young women around the country and the world who are seeking to become fully set-apart for Christ.
The Ludy’s have spoken on the deeper Christian life to hundreds of thousands around the States and abroad. They have won the hearts of audiences everywhere with their powerful message on restoring historical, heroic, Biblical Christianity to the modern church. In addition to writing and speaking, Eric and Leslie are active in international orphan advocacy work and have adopted two of their four children. The Ludy family lives in Windsor, Colorado.
Dannah Gresh, a best-selling author and captivating speaker, has long been at the forefront of the movement to encourage tweens and teens to be modest in their dress and to pursue vibrant lives of purity. Her most popular works include And the Bride Wore White, Lies Young Women Believe (co-authored with Nancy Leigh DeMoss) for teens, and Secret Keeper Girl series for tweens and their moms. Her websites, purefreedom.org and secretkeepergirl.com are visited by more than 10,000 youth workers and parents a month, as they seek advice on how to raise godly, pure followers of God.
Dannah is currently spearheading a nationwide petition to protect little girls. She believes the fashion industry is pressuring little girls to grow up too fast! The findings of two years of study by an American Psychological Association (APA) task force state that clothing, which makes girls appear older, and the associated marketing efforts are linked to eating disorders, low self-esteem, and depression. Further analysis of teen sexual behavior would suggest that these clothes also increase the risk of early sexual activity. She’s initiated a petition requesting that the leaders of the fashion industry both read and respond to the APA’s report entitled “The Sexualization of Girls.” Join the nearly ten thousand who have already signed the petition at secretkeepergirl.com.
Dannah lives in State College, Pennsylvania, with her husband, Bob, and their children, Robby, Lexi and Autumn whom the family adopted from China in 2007. She and her husband founded Grace Prep, a new model in Christian high school education, which Bob administrates. She is shamelessly in love with her labradoodle, Stormie!
Leslie and Dannah will be posting a couple of times a month. I hope you’re as excited as I am about reading their blogs!
