Does anyone have any examples of times when their hedges proved to be a great blessing? What about times when they realized they really did need a hedge put in place?
I had an interesting flashback last week. I was searching for an email in my archives and one popped up from 5 years ago when I was a new Christian. It was relating to a trip that I was planning while I was living abroad. It was going to be a lovely trip, but was just going to be me and a guy that I had been unofficially dating. We didn't make it official because we wanted to travel together and knew that it would be a "no-no" to travel alone with a boyfriend. Reading the email, I remembered and relived all the emotion of the time, and realized first how nieve I was in thinking that hedges were for crazy overzealous Christians designed to steal joy and adventure from life and secondly, how much I really underneath desired to fall. By a great grace of the Lord, that trip fell apart and the young man and I parted ways. It is such a cause for praise to see how God has grown my heart to love His designs and view hedges truly as protection rather than oppression. Praise be to God!

I too have enjoyed the benefits of hedges or truth-inspired defenses against temptation. Simple things like choosing not to text or call guys for any reason have spared me much embarassment, hassle and chagrin.
