Christ Our Coming King
In the late 1800’s, a New York journalist asked a theologian named A.B. Simpson if he knew when Christ was coming back to earth. “Yes,” replied Simpson. “and I will tell you if you promise to print what I say, references and all.” The reporter agreed. “Then put this down: ‘This gospel of the kingdom [...]

Media Matters
Many people who know me as an author and women’s ministry speaker are often curious about why I have started a film company. They seem to assume there is a split focus there. Perhaps there is, but because I see media in a more holistic way, one of the reasons I started Citygate Films was [...]

More than a Ball of Yarn
Several months ago, I ran into Zellers to buy a few things for the house. I rounded the corner from the aisle containing pillows and blankets into the next aisle, where I expected to find candles, vases, and home decor. But what I saw stopped me dead in my tracks.

Living a Poured Out Life
One of the great tragedies of American Christian young women is our total preoccupation with self. God has not called us to build our lives around the pursuit of our own selfish desires, but to be poured-out sacrifices for His kingdom…You don’t have to be amazingly gifted or highly educated to pour your life out for Jesus Christ. Yet through hospitality, we can meet our neighbors and be a lighthouse in spiritually dark neighborhoods.

Perhaps it was in her house that the church gathered to take up a collection to send Paul as he endured house arrest in Rome…It’s hard to know what precisely happened in Lydia’s home, except for this fact — her first act of ministry as a believer was to offer her home and hospitality.

Women’s Equality and Shia Law
A new Shia family law signed by Afghan President Hamid Karzai sometime last month would severely restrict women’s rights in Afghanistan. While the Afghan constitution guarantees equal rights for women, it also allows the Shia community, which represents about 10 per cent of the population, the right to settle family law cases according to Shia [...]
